I've always loved learning. As a child, school supply shopping to fill my learning toolbox was perpetually a much-anticipated event. Even today I get a smile on my face whenever I walk through the stationary section of an office supply shop. While I still appreciate a trusty box of Crayola crayons or more glamorous glittering pencils, as a teacher I have become infatuated with sturdy plastic baskets and containers that have potential to fill all my organizational dreams.

When I began my graduate studies with Michigan State University’s Master of Arts in Education (MAED) program I was thrilled at the prospect to learn theories and high qualities practices that would help me meet the needs of young learners and fill my teaching toolbox. My anticipation was met with rigorous and insightful instruction. Although my master’s program is coming to a close, I have been inspired to continue learning new ways to better outcomes for my students – as well as my own pedagogy.
